Day 4: Depart

If your flight is late, revisit your favourite spot at sunrise.

Adjustments by season

  • Summer: move the Valley of the Winds and Base Walk to first light and keep afternoons for the pool.
  • Winter: sunrise is later and colder, but you can walk comfortably through the middle of the day.
  • After rain: go straight to Uluṟu to see water on the rock.

Splurge options

If you are celebrating, consider a helicopter flight over both landmarks, or a dune-top dinner. Book these early in peak season because capacity is small.

Budget version

Skip the paid experiences, walk to the Yulara lookouts for sunset on your first evening, and use a single combined sunrise and Kata Tjuṯa tour if you do not have a car.
