Plan

How many days at Uluṟu?

The short answer: two full days is the sweet spot, three if you want to walk more.

One night

You can see one sunset, one sunrise and a short walk. It feels rushed, especially if your flight times are awkward.

Enough for sunrise and sunset, the Cultural Centre, part of the Base Walk and a Kata Tjuṯa walk.

Three nights

Adds the full Base Walk, the Valley of the Winds without rushing, and an evening experience such as the Field of Light.

Four or more

Add a day trip to Kings Canyon or continue to Alice Springs and the West MacDonnell Ranges.

Factor in flight times

Many flights arrive around midday and leave in the early afternoon, which effectively removes half a day at each end. If your arrival is late in the day, add a night. A common pattern is three nights for two full days plus part days for travel.

If you are combining with other places

Add at least two nights for Kings Canyon and two for Alice Springs and the West MacDonnell Ranges if you are doing a Red Centre loop.
